Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, SD.

Funeral Service for Zayden Rey Shepherd, Omani Hoksina " Traveling Boy" 13 months old, of Sioux Falls, SD will be held on February 7, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center Agency Village, South Dakota with John Cloud III, Cyle Kampeska, JC Crawford, Coke LaFontaine and Mike LaFontaine officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl and Drum Group will be the Old Agency Singers. Pall Bearers will be Mason Shepherd, Tristan Shepherd, Ace Shepherd and Lucas Barse.   Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Zayden's Family.   Interment will be in the St. Mary's Episcopal Cemetery, Agency Village, South Dakota.   Prayer Service will be held on Monday, February 06, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Zayden was born on December 13 2021 in Sioux Falls, SD to Raven Shepherd and Jaylen Rencountre. Zayden loved to use anything he got his hands on to drum.  All the luvin's. He loved pow-wow music, every time he heard it he would bounce up and down as if he was dancing and singing along. He loved his stuffed animals especially teddy bears. He enjoyed eating anything and everything especially his sweets and goodies. He had insatiable appetite. Zayden passed away on February 2, 2023 at Sanford Children Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD.

Zadyen is survived by his mother, Raven Shepherd of Sioux Falls, SD and his father, Jaylen Rencountre of Enemy Swim, SD; two brothers Graysen and  Emery Liscano of  Shakopee, MN; maternal grandmother, Justine LaFontaine of Sioux Falls, SD; maternal grandfather, Steve (Lashawn) Shepherd of Bismarck, ND; maternal great grandfather, Smiley Shepherd of Shakopee, MN; maternal great grandfather, Greg LaFontaine of Minneapolis, MN; maternal great grandmother, Lavonne Renville of Sisseton, SD; paternal grandmother, Larissa Rencountre of  Groton, SD; paternal grandfather, Stanley Wright of Sioux Falls, SD; paternal great grandmother, Sharen Hopkins of Enemy Swim, SD.

Zayden was preceded in death by his maternal great grandmother, Rosemary Shepherd and his paternal great grandfather Delbert Hopkins, Sr.
