Immediate family only funeral service for Winfred D. "Buddy" Feather, 69, of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD with Jr. Heminger CLP officiating. Pall bearers will be Aron Hill, Anthony Frenier Jr., DustieRose DeMarrias, Rayce Hill, Jeff Cook, Brandon Yankton, and Cody Tougtes. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Winfred's Family, and Friends. Due to the Corona virus and social distancing there will be no wake services, there will be immediate family only visitation at the chapel on Friday, one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in the Ascension Presbyterian Cemetery, Big Coulee, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Winfred Dwight "Buddy" Feather was born on April 18, 1950 to Clifton and Theresa (Atkinson) Feather Sr. at Lincoln, NE. Buddy received his GED in Sisseton, SD. He was a laborer and loved working on cars. He also worked at Dakota Magic Casino. Buddy met Mavis Hill in 1968 and they had two children, Winfred "Baby" Feather Jr., and Angela Feather-Cook. He loved his children and grand children, and great grandchildren. He lived most of his life in the Sisseton area amongst family and friends. He passed away at Coteau Des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton, SD due to a long battle with cancer.
Buddy is survived by his daughter Angela Feather-Cook of Watertown, SD, longtime companion Mavis Hill of Sisseton, SD, brothers, Clifton Feather Jr. of Sisseton, SD, Lawrence "Yogi" Feather of Sioux Falls, SD, 3grandchildren, Aron Hill, DustieRose DeMarrias, Anthony Frenier Jr., and two great grandsons, Dion Frenier, and Devan Benally, and sisters, Kathy White-Feather and Patty Feather of Sisseton, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Winfred "Baby" Feather, and one sister, Sylvia Feather.
