Funeral Mass for William Roy LaCroix, 77 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Tony Dummer, OMI Celebrant. The Drum Group will be Terrell Cook Drum Group. Pallbearers will be Lawson Renville, Scott LaCroix, Alfie LaCroix, Danny Donnell, John Donnell, Joe Donnell, and Josh Donnell. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of William's Nieces and Nephews. Interment will be held in the St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery, Veblen, SD. There will be visitation on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Cahill Funeral Chapel. There will be a Wake Service on Sunday, at 7:00 PM at St. Catherine's Hall. William was born on July 28, 1935 to William and Gertrude (Wanna) LaCroix Sr. at Veblen, SD. He grew up and attended school at the Tekakwitha Orphanage, Pierre and Flandreau Indian School. Following his education he attended Vo-Tech for welding in Sioux Falls, SD. William worked for Pearless Welding and for Tetra Pak for a number of years. He traveled overseas for the Tetra Pak Company and was a consultant and troubleshooter for the company. William liked family get-togethers, barbeques, Vikings football, and playing bingo. He liked to visit with family and friends, and talk about the old times. He enjoyed working out at the Fitness Center and was active in the Veblen District. He entered Heaven at 7:10 PM on May 2, 2013 very peacefully with his family present at his side at the Tekakwitha Living Center.
William is survived by four children, Ronnie Donnell and wife Lynn of Sisseton, SD, William St. John of Sisseton, SD, Jeffery LaCroix of Aberdeen, SD, and Lance LaCroix of Minneapolis, MN; four brothers, Ralph LaCroix of Los Angeles, CA, Kenny Alvarez of Kansas City, MO, George Donnell and Rev. Vernal Donnell of Sisseton, SD; five grandchildren, Ashley LaCroix, Cierra LaCroix, Kayla LaCroix, Anthony St. John-Philbrick, and Donovan Donnell; one great grandson Noah Leon LaCroix.
William was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alvin, Norris, and
Ronnie and one sister, Sharon.
