Funeral Services for William " Bill" August Jordan Jr. 92 of New Effington, SD will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. William Schruba officiating. Organist will be Mona Greseth. Pallbearers will be Justin Meyer, Adam Campbell, Krystafer Kassahn, Tyler Kassahn, Derek Ostby and Dillon Ostby. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Bill's grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. Burial will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. Visitation will be at the Cahill Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. with a 5:30 Prayer Service. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton SD is in charge of arrangements.
William August Jordan Jr. was born on October 26, 1923 in Peever, SD to William and Ethel (Hunter) Jordan. He attended school through the 6th grade. He lived in Peever for a short time then moved to Lake Traverse before moving to the farm by New Effington where he farmed. He worked in a plant for four years making ammunition in Illinois. He married Delores on February 22, 1986 at New Effington, SD. Bill was on the Lein Township Board and blew snow for the township for a few years. Bill passed away at his home surrounded by his family.
William is survived by his wife, Delores Jordan of New Effington, SD; four children, Jean (Philip) Meyer of Hankinson, ND, Vernon (Della) Kassahn of St. Cloud, MN, Glen Kassahn of Perham, MN and Cheryl (Jeremiah) Herding of Hankinson, ND; one sister, Deloris Schneider of Sisseton, SD and one brother, Robert Jordan of New Effington, SD; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arnold and Milton Jordan; eight sisters, Stella Wieber, Evelyn Mclaird, Ruth Eidet, Thelma Jordan, Ordella Mitchell, Luella Franklin, Darlene Nelson and Adeline Wegleitner.
