Obituary

William L. Jennen Sr. was born in Veblen, SD on December 19, 1940 to Ruth (Anderson) and Walter "Sam" Jennen. He was the oldest of four siblings.
He completed twelve years of school. He then worked for his dad's construction company working on grain elevators. Then at the age of 18 he joined the Navy. He served four years and was honorbly discharged. On August 11, 1962 he married Bernita Fonder. To this union they had three sons.
He worked various jobs which included: the VFW as a bartender, Mobile gas station as a gas attendant, Grain Belt beer route truck driver which was sold to Estwick Distributing and he continued to work for them, Municipal Liquor Store, Tekawitha Living Center as a maintenance man for many years. He then left the nursing center and worked at IHS Hospital in maintenance until retiring.
William's interests included hunting, fishing, target shooting, building rifles and reloading shells.
William passed away on March 2, 2016 at Tekawitha Living Center. He is survived by three
sons; William L. Jennen Jr. and wife Julie of Sisseton, SD, Robert L. Jennen of Watertown, SD and David Jennen and spouse Darryl Olson of Bridger, MT; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister Sandy Trost and husband Gary of Belle Plains, MN.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bernita Jennen, two brothers, and his parents.
A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
