Funeral Service for William (Bill) Arthur Argo Sr., 69, of Wilmot, South Dakota will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 2:30 P.M. at the Peever Community Center, Peever, South Dakota with Rev. Sheila Pohl officiating. Organist will be Ollie Yost and Soloist Pat Schubert. Pallbearers will be Craig Deutsch, Seth Deutsch, Damian Deutsch, Jeff Argo, Donnie Wren, and Alan McFarlane. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill's former employees, business associates and many friends. Burial will be in the Peever Cemetery, Peever, South Dakota with Military Rites by Otto-Quande-Renville Post #50 and Ft. Sisseton VFW Post #3342. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
William Arthur Argo Sr. was born to Arthur and Lucille (Solberg) Argo Sr. on July 1, 1946 at Sisseton, South Dakota. He attended country school and at a young age he quit school to help on the family farm. In later years he got his GED. He was active in the National Guard from November 1965 to November 1971. He was united in marriage to Lynette Dahl on July 15, 1967 they were married for 30 years. To this union three children were born. Bill worked at the Farmers Union Coop. in Wilmot for 12 years holding various positions. In 1977 Bill bought his own truck and trailer and hauled gravel and hay. In 1981 Bill expanded his business by purchasing Virgil Rudebusch Trucking and renamed the business Bill Argo Trucking. He hauled livestock and grain for over 20 years. He then worked for Border States in the Agronomy Center in Sisseton. Bill met Kaye and they shared an adventurous 17 years together. In 2000 he started Dakota Trikes Inc. and sold Lehman Trike kits and also had a used car dealership in Sisseton until 2009 at which time due to his health he retired. Bill's hobbies were fishing, camping, bowling, riding snowmobiles, buying and selling cars and riding motorcycles and trikes and he was adventurous when it came to traveling. You never knew where he might end up from going on an Alaska inside passage cruise, flying to Hawaii and Cancun, to fishing on the river or having a cabin in Akaska, or going south for a few months in the winter; or snowmobiling in Minnesota and the Black Hills. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bill passed away on May 12, 2016 at Prairie Lakes Hospital, Watertown, SD surrounded by family. Upon his death Bill gave the gift of life through tissue donation.
Bill is survived by three children William Argo Jr. and Arlene White-Argo of Wilmot, SD; Kristi and Chad Sibson of Beardsley, MN, Kimberly and Gerald Swayze of Wilmot, SD; and a step-daughter Johanna and Brian Heinecke of Sisseton, SD; three sisters Ellen and Evert Jouwstra of Lennox, SD, Diane Casstevens of Wilmot, SD, and Julie and Les Gonsor of Watertown, SD; and three brothers Arthur and Diane Argo Jr. of Wilmot, SD, David and Cindy Argo of Peever, SD and Dale and Tammy Argo of Peever, SD 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, twin infant siblings, 1 infant grandson, brother-in-law Jack Casstevens and nephew Jeremy Argo.
