A Funeral Service for Willard Ralph LaFromboise Jr. SunKa Nasin Duzahan "Horse Running Fast", 78, of Veblen, South Dakota will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, South Dakota. There will be a Wake Service on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, South Dakota from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor Vern Donnell and CRE Gerald Heminger Jr.  Drum Group will be Red Iron Lake Singers. Pall Bearers will be Garret Renville, Travis Cloud, Trinity Cloud, Alex LaFromboise, Shilo LaFromboise, Jason Peterson, Ozzie Nelson, and Brayden LaFromboise. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Floyd Beaudreau, Maynard Beaudreau, Frank Mestes, Jeff Swarts, Harry Buckanaga, Dakota Sioux Staff, and All of Willard's Family & Friends. Interment will be at the Sisseton Wahpeton Veterans Cemetery in Sisseton, South Dakota immediately following the service with Military Rites by Kit Fox Society. Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Willard Ralph LaFromboise Jr. was born on April 24, 1946, in Sisseton, SD to Willard and Valeska (Lawrence) LaFromboise Sr. He grew up in Veblen, SD and attended Immaculate Conception High School in Stephan, SD graduating in 1965. He then joined the US Navy in November of the same year. He served with distinction in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Engineman Third Class and serving in Combat "V". Willard received the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal during his time in service. He was honorably discharged on October 16, 1969. Ralph then returned to Watertown, SD where he worked at Miracle Span as an ironworker. Throughout his life he also worked as a brick layer, roofer, and as a mechanic. Ralph worked his final years at Dakota Sioux Casino as a porter where he would then retire after 20 years. He enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Denver Broncos, attending his grandchildren's sport events, attending pow-wow's, visiting with friends and relatives, and he truly enjoyed feeding the birds. He loved to see the different variety of birds that would visit his bird feeder.

In 1972, Ralph would marry Mavis Quinn and have four beautiful children: Dustin (Sara) LaFromboise of Sisseton, SD, Tanya LaFromboise of St. Paul, MN, Landon (Sheri) LaFromboise of Peever, SD, and Trisha LaFromboise of Sisseton, SD. In this union came a stepdaughter Terri Quinn-Brooks. He is survived by one brother Robert(Susan) LaFromboise of Veblen, SD; six sisters Carol LaFromboise of Flandreau, SD, Belva Renville of Flandreau, SD, Mona (Frank) Mestes of Eagle Butte, SD, Pam LaFromboise of New Effington, SD, Mary LaFromboise of Wheaton, MN, and Phyllis "Tweetie" LaFromboise of St. Paul, MN; seven grandchildren Austin Steiner, Laci LaFromboise, Kiara "KiKi" LaFromboise, Brayden LaFromboise, Ashlynn LaFromboise, Saige LaFromboise, Semiah LaFromboise; two great-grandchildren Percy Lussier Jr., and Layla LaFromboise.

Willard is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Valeska (Lawrence) LaFromboise Sr. and one brother Alex LaFromboise.
