Whitney Rae Hopkins "Squitty Whit", was born on December 5, 1988 to Estelle Hopkins and
Roy Crazy Bull, in Sisseton, SD. She attended Enemy Swim Day School from elementary until
she graduated the eighth grade. From there she went to Waubay High School but completed her GED
through the SWST youth build program which led her to attend other classes at the SWCC.
During this time she met her life partner Christopher Fayant Sr. in which they were blessed
with four beautiful children. Whitney enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She was a homemaker,
not only in her own Home but to the rest of the family as well. Her ability to reach people in an
Uncanny Way brought joy and laughter in many lives. Whit was the life of the party who
radiated passion for her love ones throughout her life. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Duke Fan,
and her nieces and nephews meant the world to her as she thought of them as her own.
Whitney passed away on August 24, 2017.
Whitney is survived by her four children, Mercades Rhanae Hopkins, Dominic Lee Hopkins-Fayant, Christopher Reed "CJ" Fayant Jr., and Shylah Grace Hopkins-Fayant all of Enemy Swim; her companion Christopher Fayant Sr. of Enemy Swim; her mother, Estelle Hopkins of Waubay, SD; her father Roy CrazyBull of West Virginia; two brothers, Johnson Hopkins of Sisseton, SD and RJ Welch of Brookings, SD; six sisters, Shannon Hopkins, Jennifer Oreskovich, and Chelsea Hopkins all of Enemy Swim, Amy FastHorse of Sisseton, SD, Emma CrazyBull of Richmond, VA, and Marquette WhiteBear of Albuquerque, NM.
