Funeral Mass for Waylon C. Horne, 46 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Jerry Ranek Celebrant. Pianist will be Kay Bursheim and Billy Kohl. Drum Group will be Old Agency Singers. Pallbearers will be Damon White, Terry Haug Jr., Shane Brown, Victor Kampeska, Chester Wilson, Conway Kampeska, Willy Varnes and Justin Cloud. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kelly Thompson, John Varnes, Austin Kampeska, Isaiah Horne Sr., Aatreyo "Chubby" Horne, Dante Sharpfish, Tashawn Sharpfish, Jace Goodsell Jr., Devin White, and all the Park Rangers. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Veblen, SD. There will be a Wake Service on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 7:00 PM at St. Catherine's Hall, Sisseton, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arraignments.
Waylon Corey Horne was born on December 31, 1968 to Reginald Horn Sr. and Irene Renville. He attended school at Sisseton, Wahpeton and Plankinton. Following his education he worked at Schlitz Food for over 22 years, for a short time he lived in Detroit Lakes and worked in Pelican Rapids at a Turkey Plant then he moved back to Sisseton. Waylon liked to hunt and fish. He had a great sense of humor; laughing and joking he made the best of any situation. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spending a lot of time with his nephew Shane and his children Jaylee and Bryant. Waylon passed away on May 2, 2015 at Veblen, SD from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Waylon is survived by his mother, Irene Renville of Sisseton, SD two daughters, Liza Horne and Dora Lynn LaCroix of Sisseton, SD; longtime companion Vanessa Kirk of Sisseton, SD; three brothers, Todd Blackthunder of Sisseton, SD, Kyle Kampeska of Sisseton, SD, Reginald Horn Jr. of Wilmot, SD; seven sisters, Jody Smith of Sisseton, SD, Joelene (Kerwin) Kampeska Larson of Watertown, SD, Theresa Wilson of Sisseton, SD, Raquel Horne of Sisseton, SD, Regina Horne of Watertown, SD, Mary Horn of Veblen, SD and Missy Smith of Minneapolis, MN.
Waylon was preceded in death by his father, Reginald Horn Sr.; three children, Baby LaCroix and twin boys LaCroix; one brother, Victor Kampeska; two sisters, Memory Kampeska and Sheila Kampeska.
