Funeral Service for Vanessa Dawn Alaniz Chavarria (Driver), 49, of Watertown, South Dakota will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Arnold Williams officiating. Pall Bearers will be Tavis Driver, Brayden Brown, Migue Tinoco, Bryan DuMarce Sr., Kenneth Morsette and Ron "Magoo" HolyBull.  Honorary Pall Bearers will be All Vanessa's Friends and Relatives.

Vanessa Dawn Alaniz Chavarria (Driver) was born to Helen Keeble and Vernie M. Driver Sr. on December 21, 1973, in Brainerd, MN. Vanessa and Vernie were placed in foster care when they were young. In the early 1980s, Linda (Driver) Crawford worked for the Sisseton Wahpeton Child Protection Program. Linda located Vernie and Vanessa in a foster home in West Virginia. Linda and her husband Dale brought them home to live with them. Vanessa's dad, the late Vernie Moses Driver Sr. and Caroline Driver (Linda (Driver) Crawford's mom were brother and sister.

Vanessa attended Peever Elementary, Westside Elementary, and Wahpeton Indian School and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1992. After graduating high school, Vanessa worked various jobs and made many friends. She loved to visit, do puzzles, and most importantly, spend time with her children and pets.  Vanessa passed away on November 25. 2023 at Watertown, South Dakota.

Vanessa is survived by two sons, Tavis Driver and Brayden Brown; two daughters, Treva (Driver) Tinoco (husband Miguel Tinoco) and Tamara Bearhart, all of Watertown, South Dakota. Many siblings, Vernie M. Driver Jr., Brandon Driver, Jeannie (Driver) Bosch, John Driver, Vernie Allen Driver, Brittania, Destini, Raine and Meadow Driver, Darren Crawford, Terri (Crawford) DuMarce, Jackie Crawford and Mindy Crawford and many other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernie Moses Driver Sr. and Helen Keeble; Linda (Driver) Crawford and Edwin (Dale) Crawford; Sisters Crystal Driver and Pricilla Driver; paternal grandparents Moses and Lena (Max) Driver; Maternal grandparents Stella (Sherman) Keeble and Jonas Keeble Sr.; her soulmate and father to Tamara Bearhart, Curtis Bearhart Jr.

Vanessa's first granddaughter will arrive in March 2024; her parents are Treva and Miguel Tinoco. Vanessa was so excited about becoming a grandma. We know in our hearts that she is watching over all of us.
