Funeral Service for Valdean Louise Campbell, 74, of Webster, SD will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 10:30 at the Enemy Swim Community Center, Enemy Swim, SD with Valerie Augustson Sr. Catechist and Fr. Conrad Ciesel officiating.  Pall Bearers will be Chaska John, Wayne Hopkins, Shawn Campbell, Calvin Campbell, Jesse Childs and Mikhail Childs.  Honorary Pall Bearers will be Sharon Cloud, Bonnie Flammond, Marlys Robertson, Donna O'Riley, Mary Lou Wynde, Amy Storm, Fern Cloud, Reta Childs, Ramona Jones, Donna Campbell, Dory Bullert, Arlene Childs, Bethesda Nursing Home Staff and Residents, and all of Valdean's Family & Friends.   Interment will be in the Lakewood Cemetery, Waubay, South Dakota.  There will be an All Night Wake Service on Sunday, October 23, 2022 starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Enemy Swim Community Center.  The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Valdean was born in Sisseton, SD on April 26, 1948 to James and Susan (Owen) Campbell.  Valdean went to school in Waubay and received her GED.  She lived in the Enemy Swim and Waubay areas all her life. Valdean was active in her community of Enemy Swim.  She served on the Enemy Swim Day School board for many years.  She also served on the JOM committee for the Waubay School District.  She was active within Enemy Swim District serving on several boards.  Valdean was a devoted Christian all her life.  She resided at Bethesda Nursing Home the past ten years where she passed away on October 20, 2022.  The family would like to thank the Bethesda Nursing Home staff for their tireless care of Valdean.

Valdean is survived by her two daughters Lisa (Shawn) John of Yakima, WA and Ashley Ironstar of Sioux Falls, SD; one brother James "Bunny" (Donna) Campbell of Webster, SD; grandchildren Chaska John and Jason John of Yakima, WA. and Harley Fairchild of Watertown, SD; Nicholas Cook and Suzy Cook of Indian River, MI, Timothy Walker, Gabe Walker, and Michael Walker; niece Nadine Cook of Indian River, Michigan; nephews Shawn Campbell and Bryan Graves of Cass Lake, MN.

Valdean was preceded in death by her parents James Campbell and Susan (Owen) Klebe; one son Jason; two brothers Norman Campbell and Curtis Campbell.
