Funeral Service for Thomas Anthony Long, 50, of Watertown, SD will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. peters Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Hitpas O.M.I. celebrant. Organist will be Cindy Marohl and song leader will be Sherman Hannasch. Pallbearers will be Jeff and Jon Long, R.J. and Jeff Hogrefe, Darwin Kratcha, and Patrick Bain. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Tom's friends and associates. Interment will be in the St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be visitation on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 P.M. at the Cahill Funeral Chapel.
Thomas was born on February 26, 1963 at Sisseton, SD to Russell and Pearl (Solberg) Long. He grew up and attended school in New Effington, SD. After his education Tom helped his father on the farm, and also worked for neighboring farmers. He then moved to Watertown, SD where he lived and worked for 20 years doing various jobs. Tom loved to talk about cars, drink pop and visit with his friends.
Thomas is survived by two brothers, Neil and wife Rose Ann Long and James and wife Cheryl Long of Sisseton, SD and one sister, Joyce and husband Karl Schneider of Wahpeton, ND.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Jeremiah, and one brother-in-law Donald Schlitz
