Funeral Service for Theodore Cephas King, 60, of Rosholt, SD will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Traverse Lake District Center, Browns Valley, Minnesota with Jaime White Thunder officiating. Pallbearers will be Elias Ortley, Dean Iyarpeya, Kenny Pilcher, BJ Harwood, Mel Huff, and CJ King. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Cloud, Owen Dean German, Brian Rodlund, and  the staff at the Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, SD. There will be an All Night Wake Services on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 and Wednesday December 21, 2022 starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Lake Traverse District Center, Browns Valley, SD.  . Interment will be in St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, Browns Valley, SD after the service.

Theodore C. King was born to William and Fanchon King on December 23, 1961, in Sisseton, South Dakota. He was raised at Lake Traverse, where he grew up. Ted attended and graduated from the Browns Valley School. He attended the Sisseton Wahpeton Community College for two years where he took up masonary. Ted worked at Schultz Foods then went on to work at the BIA Tribal Roads for many years. Ted was also a BIA Fire Fighter. He worked at Dakota Magic Casino in the Maintenance department until he was no longer able to work due to illness. He then went to the Tekakwitha Nursing Home where he passed away.

Theodore is survived by his sisters; Peggy King of Rosholt, SD, Wilma King of Sisseton, SD, Brenda King of Rosholt, SD, Faith Owens of Watertown, SD, and Sharon Ellingson of Wadena, MN, and brother; Earl DeMarrias of  Peever, SD.

Theodore is preceded in death by his parents; William and Fanchon (Plume) King, sisters; Martha King and Ernestine Huff, brothers;  Willard King, Gerald M. King, Sampson DeMarrias, Darrell DeMarrias, Dennis Brant, and Cedric King, and nephew; Gerald William King.
