Funeral Service for Tamaro "Tami" Tamayo will be on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the SWO Community Center, Agency Village, SD with CLP Fillmore Simon officiating. Pallbearers will be John Thomas, Jr., Jeremiah Wilkie, Sr., Elijah Lahm, Kyle Wolfe, BearShield Wolf, Donathan DuMarce. Honorary Pallbearers will be DuWayne DuMarce, Sr., Dale Parys, Melvin Baptiste Perdue, Lloyd LaBelle, Jr., Mordicai Perdue, Buffalo DuMarce, Neera Gilpin, Nikia Pruitt, Serene Bissette, Trinity Tamayo, Sammie Parys, Gabriel Wolfe, Zy Erah DuMarce and Isiah LaBelle. Wake Service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 7:00PM at the SWO Community Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Tamaro "Tami" Tamayo was born on October 9, 1985 in Omaha, NE but was raised in Macy, NE. Later on the family returned to Omaha where she remained until 2009 when she rejoined the family who had relocated to Crawfordsville. Once here Tami began working for a better life for her little family. She participated in the ESDA Face Program whole heartedly until 2016 when she began employment at Shopko. It was a great learning experience for her which she enjoyed and it helped her make bigger plans for herself. Although Shopko closed she continued in her efforts to a better family life. With encouraging assistance from the ET-DEMO program she began employment at Dakota Crossing participating in a management training program. She would have been promoted to assistant manager on the day of her demise. Tamaro passed away on July 2, 2019 at Coteau Des Prairies Hospital, Sisseton, SD.
Tamaro is survived by her parents Melvina DuMarce and Rojelio Nieto Tamayo, significant other Antonio D. Perdue; children Neera Gilpin, Nikia Pruitt, Zy Erah DuMarce, (Stepson) Mordecal Perdue and Melvin Baptiste DuMarce Perdue; sisters, Angelina (Sam Parys) Tamayo, Jennifer (Toby Schroenrock) DuMarce; brother Joseph Tamayo; nephews Gabriel and Kyle Wolfe, Dale Parys, Josiah LaMere; nieces Serene Bassette, Trinity Tamayo, Sammie Parys, Madison Levering and Rainbow Wolfe; Aunts, Agnes Lovejoy of Omaha, NE, Evelyn DuMarce of Omaha, Ne, Elly Labelle (Bubba) of Agency Village; Uncles, DuWayne DuMarce Sr. of Omaha, Ne, Gerald Wolf of Sioux City, Iowa; other relatives; many cousins, uncles and aunts.
Tamaro was preceded in death by her older sisters, Ernestine (Moonbabe) and Robin Wolfe; maternal grandparents, Mitchell DuMarce Sr.; maternal grandmother, Gertrude Esau Wolf; paternal grandparents Angelina Nieto, Henry P. Nieto, and Miss Nieto; uncle, Raymond DuMarce and Mitchell DuMarce, Jr.
