Funeral Service for Tamara "Tammy" Lee Goodteacher, 74, of Sisseton, SD will be held on May 15, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Kateri's Hall, Sisseton, SD. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Gregg Frankman. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pall Bearers will be Austin Goodteacher, Dallas Goodteacher, Brandon Goodteacher, Julian Johnson, Irvin "Fonz" Hill Jr., Erick Hill, Chester Wilson, Josh Wilson and BJ Hill. Honorary Pall Bearers will be All of Tammy's Head Start staff, students, friends and family. There will be an all night wake service on Sunday, May 14, 2023 starting at 7:00 P.M. at St. Kateri's Hall in Sisseton, SD. Inurnment will be at the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Tammy was born on May 25, 1948 to Pearl (Lampke) Wilson and Leo Wilson Sr. in Sisseton, SD. She attended St. Peter's Catholic School. Tammy met Sylvester (Sal Goody) Goodteacher Sr. when they were young. They were united in marriage in Wheaton, MN. on October 25, 1966. Together they had three wonderful children – Sylvester (Chuck) Jr., Sheila and Tanya. Tammy worked various jobs, Tekakwitha as a cook and I-29 as a housekeeper. The profession she loved best was when she became a Sisseton Wahpeton Head Start Teacher. She really fit her last name to a T! She loved working with kids, always good with creativeness when it came to keeping them occupied, to how she put her special touch on decorating her classroom every school year. Tammy loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren tremendously. She was always over protective but in a good way. Through her marriage and life as a wife/mother/grandma she taught us how to be strong and be based on love and family. She will forever be remembered and cherished in the hearts she touched. Tammy passed away on May 9, 2023 in Sisseton, SD. Many family members and nurses were with her when she made her journey.

Tammy is survived by her son Sylvester (Chuck) Goodteacher Jr. and wife Devonna from Sisseton,SD; daughters Sheila Goodteacher from California and Tanya Goodteacher from Sisseton, SD; she had numerous Grandchildren and many great grandchildren; two sisters Violet (Wilson) Hull and Vicki (Wilson) DeMarrias from Sioux Falls, SD; Tammy had a big family so there is many nieces/nephews/cousins/ and friends.

Tammy is preceded in death by her parents Pearl (Lampke) Wilson and Leo Wilson Sr.; husband Sylvester Goodteacher Sr.; three brothers Leo "Buck" Wilson Jr., Terry "Dude" Wilson and Marshall John Wilson.
