Graveside Funeral service for Sylvia L. Hanson, 91, of Minneapolis, MN formerly of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD with Rev. William Schruba officiating. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. Sylvia was born on a farm near Sisseton, SD on September 1, 1919 to Leonard T. and Olga (Kluken) Hanson. While still a toddler, her parents, with her brother Albert and herself moved to a farm near Peever, SD. In 1925 the family moved to Sisseton, SD. After graduating from High School Sylvia moved to Minneapolis, MN to attend college and continued to make that city her home. Sylvia retired from the Abbott Northwestern Sister Kenny Hospital in 1984 after over 17 years of service in a management position. Sylvia passed away on August 21, 2011 at 5:30 AM at the Augustana Care Center, in Minneapolis, MN.
Sylvia is survived by one brother, Joseph Hanson and his wife Donna, of Sioux Falls, SD; one nephew Charles Hanson and his wife Sandie, of Minneapolis, MN; two nieces and their husbands, JoAnn and Charles Heck of Sioux Falls, SD and Susan and James Madson of Olathe, KS, five grand nieces and two great grand nieces..
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Albert, one sister Karen Edith, and her special friend Jeanette Walters.
