Graveside Service for Steven Jay Peters, 60 of Salt Lake City, Utah formerly of Sisseton, SD   will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Veterans Cemetery, Sisseton, SD with Pastor Vern Donnell officiating. Military Rites will be by the Otto-Quande-Renville American Legion Post #50 and Fort Sisseton VFW Post #3342.

Steven Jay Peters was born on May 1, 1963, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Steve was the second son of Cyril "Cy" Peters and Carol (Tasa) Peters. He spent his early years in South Dakota before the family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he spent his teenage years. Following high school, Steve honorably served in the United States Air Force for 17 years from August 1981 to December 1992 as an aircraft mechanic. He served in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm and received the Southwest Asia Service Medal. After his military career, Steve lived out his years as a free-spirited jack-of-all-trades, spending his time in South Dakota, Colorado, and Utah. He had a kind heart and absolutely loved any dog that crossed his path. Steven Jay Peters, loved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on September 27, 2023, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 60.

Steve is survived by his loving family: his older brother, Wayne Peters (Heather Ingham) of Salt Lake City, Utah; his younger brother, Tim Peters (Kara Peters, née Schafer), of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his son, Derrick Mireles, and cherished granddaughter, Isabella Mireles, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brothers, Neil Peters and Paul Peters.
