Graveside Service for Stanley Darrell Hagen, 79, of Coon Rapids, MN formerly of Sisseton, SD will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Suzanne Benidt officiating. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be visitation on Friday, May 28, 2010 from noon until 1:00 PM at the Cahill Funeral Chapel. Stanley was born on May 7, 1931 in Grant Township, Roberts County, SD to Selmer and Alma (Sanden) Hagen. He attended school in Sisseton and graduated from Sisseton High School. Stanley entered the SD National Guard on February 16, 1949 and his unit was activated so he was in the US Army from September 1, 1950 until November 26, 1951. Stanley was married to Marlys Vesting on June 2, 1949 at New Effington, SD. Stanley retired from Fairmont Foods where he drove a delivery truck. He liked to fish and spend time at their lake cabins on various lakes. Stanley passed away on May 13, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Stanley is survived by four children, Kathleen Hagen of Champlin, MN, Nancy Struss of Coon Rapids, MN, Holly and husband Frank Zawislak of St. Paul, MN, and Kevin Hagen of Hawley, MN and daughter-in-law Marcy VonValkenburg of Otsego, MN, one brother, Verle and wife Detta Hagen of Manhatten Beach, CA, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marlys of sixty years, one son Douglas, two brothers, Arlo and Lowell, and one son-in-law Lin Struss.
