Funeral Mass for Sheila Ann Wanna, 61 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Sisseton, SD with Rev. Fr. Tony Dummer, OMI and Rev. Vern Donnell officiating. Special music will be provided by Butch Felix and the Old Agency Singers drum group. Pallbearers will be David Williams, Alex Wanna, Joey Peterson, Bennett OneRoad, Howard Wanna and Jay Wanna. Honorary pallbearers will be Lea, Lisa, Marita, Danita, and Vanessa Wanna, Tanya Mitchell, Jessica, Renae, Kelsey, and Franie Wanna, and the Thompson girls. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery, Veblen, SD. Wake Services will be held at St. Catherine's Hall on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 PM.
Sheila was born on May 18, 1951 in Sisseton, SD to Oliver and Angeline (Supangi) Wanna Sr. She attended school in Minneapolis, MN and at Marshall High School. Following her education she worked in retail sales in Minneapolis, MN, before having her family. She then relocated to Sisseton in 1973 and worked at Sioux Village Foods and was a home maker. She loved her grandchildren and was everyone's auntie "She" and they loved her story telling. She loved oldies music, playing cards, and talking about her grandchildren. Sheila passed away suddenly and peacefully with her family at her side on April 29, 2013 Sandford Health Pallative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.
Sheila is survived by one daughter, Bridget Wanna of Miami, FL; two sisters, Debra Peterson of Veblen, SD and Anita Wanna of Sisseton, SD; four brothers, Gerald Wanna of Ft. Totten, ND, Duane Wanna of Sisseton, SD, Eugene Wanna of Sisseton, SD and Oliver Wanna Jr. of Sisseton, SD; two grandchildren, MaLisa Wanna and Luis Wanna; and one great grandson, Jeremy Wanna.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Kathryn Marie and Carmen Olivia.
