Funeral Mass for Sandra A. White (Sandy) will be on Monday, August 19, 2024, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Sisseton, SD at 1:00 P.M. Officiating the service will be Fr. Ken Lulf and Deacon Chet Cordell. Urn bearer will be Daniel DuMarce. Honorary urn bearers will be Pernell White, Wayne Paul White, Marlon DuMarce, Manuel White, Jade White, Eli Jordan White, Shelly White-Johnson, Carla Augustine, Phedora Wilson, Lily Renville, Stacey Azure, Rolette Eastman, and Her Great & Great-Great Grandchildren. There will be an All-Night Wake service on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Hall starting at 7:00 P.M. Inurnment will be at a later date at Buffalo Lake Cemetery, Eden, SD.

Sandra Alva White (Sandy) was born on November 11, 1945, to Benjamin White Sr. and Florine Marks. Sandy attended Tekakwitha Boarding School, Wahpeton Indian School, as well as Flandreau Indian School. Sandra had 8 kids: Pernell, Wayne, Marlon, Gwen, Loraina, Manuel, Jude, and Eli and raised special grandson Daniel. She loved them dearly. Sandy moved from Sisseton, SD to Sioux Falls, SD in 1979 but moved back to Sisseton in her later years. She had many jobs over the years including a CNA for nursing homes and housekeeping and tutoring for J.O.M. Sandy had many hobbies. She loved to bead, write in her journal, and shop in thrift stores. She always kept her house clean and organized. Sandy was a devote Christian and had strong faith. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Power Keno and video games such as Tetris, Pac-Man, GTA: San Andreas, and many more. Sandra always thought of others and cared deeply for her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Her 8 kids and many grandchildren meant the world to her. She would do anything for her kids and helped them immensely throughout their lives. Sandy was rejoined with her daughter Gwen when she passed away on August 13, 2024, at her home. She was our mother/father/boss. She was our Queen. Rest Easy Mom.

Sandra is survived by her children Pernell (Lavonne) White, Wayne Paul White,  Marlon "Troy" (Anntonetta) DuMarce, Manuel White, Jade White, Eli Jordan White, and Shelly White-Johnson; grandchildren Daniel (Molly) DuMarce, Jade White III, Xavier White, JT White, Wendlyn Wright, Marcella Wright, Dustin Andrews, Destiny Jumping Eagle, Rolazon Salgado, and Burnatte Rose Janis; great-great grandchild Kaiden LaFromboise; and many more great and great-great grandchildren; Joyce White, Stacey Azure, Scott DuMarce, Rhonda Wilson, and many more loved ones and friends.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin White and Florine Marks White; daughter Gwen DuMarce, brothers Benjamin White Jr. and Clifford White; sisters Melba White and Pearl White.
