Funeral Service for Sandra K. (Nathem) Quinn of Sisseton, SD will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Sisseton High School Practice Facility, Sisseton, SD with the Rev. Dwight Fearing, Fr. Les Campbell, Rev. Richard Felch and Rev. Vern Donnell Officiating. Pianist will be Gloria Slaamot. Pallbearers will be Larry Reineke, Justin Reineke, John Reineke, and Members of Sioux Voices. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sisseton High School Staff, Faculty and Students. Wake Services will be held at the Tribal Community Center on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. and a all night wake service Saturday, October 19, 2013; a Prayer Service will be held at the Sisseton High School Practice Facility on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 7:00 P.M.
Sandy enjoyed a life of adventure with the love of her life, Moses Quinn Sr. They were married on September 13, 1976 and shared 37 years together. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Moses Quinn Jr. and Sara Quinn. Sandi's fondest memories were all the times spent with her husband and children. She thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent in New Mexico and Texas but was most happy to return home to Sisseton.
Sandi touched the lives of many students and faculty at Sisseton High School while employed there. She could brighten anyone's day with a smile and a kind word. Her short but courageous battle with cancer was fought with dignity and grace and she never once lost her Faith in God. She was so thankful for all the support that she received from Sisseton High School and friends and family. She was blessed with terrific care from the Sanford staff, the Roger Maris Cancer Center staff and the Palliative Care staff and would never want to leave anyone out that helped in her tender care. Sandra passed away on Wednesday, Oct 15th at Palliative Care, Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Moses Quinn Sr. of Sisseton, SD son, Moses Quinn Jr. of Breckenridge, MN and daughter, Sara Quinn of Fargo, ND; brother, John Nathem of Lake City, SD; sisters, Carrie and Larry Reineke of Fargo ND, Jennifer Nathem of Sisseton, SD, Liza and Rick Crudden of Florence, SD, and Nancy Nathem of Aberdeen, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ruth Nathem along with her maternal and paternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your presence and memorials.
