Sandra 'Sandee' Carrol (Podliska) Curran, 79, of Sisseton, SD, passed away Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with Fr. Ken Lulf Celebrant. Organist will be Cindy Marohl and song leader will be Sandi Jaspers. Pallbearers are Evan Curran, Kaden Curran, Curtis Curran, Austin Rolstad, Mike Podliska, and Josh Podliska. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Sandee's family and friends. Interment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be visitation at the Cahill Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service to follow, at 7:00 PM. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Sandee Carrol (Podliska) Curran was born October 23rd, 1945, to Gretchen (Kohoutek) and Charles Podliska in Breckenridge, MN. Sandee was the second of three children.

Sandee's hobbies included gardening, listening to the radio, and playing the guitar, keyboard/organ, and accordion. After graduating from high school in Lidgerwood, ND, she moved to Denver, CO for three years, where she had her first job off the farm. Before returning to Lidgerwood, she pursued further education at the North Dakota State School of Science (NDSSS) where she took business classes. During her time at NDSSS, she would occasionally play guitar in bars and earn money from tips. Sandee graduated from the NDSSS after a year and moved to Alexandria, MN for three years before returning to Lidgerwood, ND.

At the age of 26, Sandee was united in marriage to Edward "Keith" Curran at St. Johns Nepomucene in Lidgerwood, ND, and together, they moved to their farmstead in rural Claire City in 1972. On the farm, Sandee was a homemaker, took care of the animals and chores, and was a 'getter man'. Sandee and Keith raised Randy, Janell, and Carol on the farm, where they lived until 1997, when they moved to Sisseton, SD.

She went through life with a fun, humble, hard-working, quick-witted, and charming spirit. Her favorite work-related achievements include learning how to cook and sew. Sandee loved being around those she loved, including her two siblings, three children, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She described her primary motivation as bringing joy to those around her through music, art, and food. Sandee volunteered throughout her life by playing the organ and enjoyed playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Sandee was also a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church of Sisseton, SD.

She is survived by her siblings: Evonne Kelly Lidgerwood, ND & Kenneth (Jolene) Podliska, Lidgerwood, ND; 3 children: Randy (Kari) Curran of West Fargo, ND, Janell (Jim) Schneider, of Sioux Falls, SD & Carol Curran (Matt Surrell) of Sioux Falls, SD; 8 grandchildren: Evan, Kaden, and Jenna Curran of West Fargo, ND, Jasmine Schneider of Sioux Falls, SD, Justin Schneider of Thornton, CO, and Alyson Lilyquist, Emily & Brinley Curran of Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Gretchen (Kohoutek) Podliska Foertsch & Charles Podliska, and her husband, Edward 'Keith' Curran.
