Memorial Service for Ruth Naomi Jennen, 89 of Veblen, SD will be held at a later date.
Ruth was born on April 24, 1919 in Veblen, SD to Elmer and Emma (Gustafson) Anderson. She grew up and attended school in the Veblen area. Following her education Ruth was united in marriage to Walter L. Jennen on April 28, 1937 in Britton, SD. The couple made their home in the Veblen area where Ruth worked and raised her family. She worked at Dacotah Inc. in Veblen for a number of years. Her husband Walter passed away on June 11 1981. Ruth continued to make her home in Veblen until 2007 when she entered the Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, SD. Ruth liked to read and play cards. Ruth passed way on April 2, 2009 at the Tekakwitha Living Center.
Ruth is survived by two sons, William and his wife, Bernita Jennen of Sisseton, SD; Walter T. Jennen of Veblen, SD and one daughter, Sandra and husband, Gary Trost of Belle Plaines, MN; one sister, Gail Crowns of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; two brothers, Clayton Anderson of Sisseton, SD and Jack Anderson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Gary, and one grandson Jeff Trost, and one sister Esther.
