Memorial Service for Ruth "Duta" Katherine Campbell, 87, of Waubay, SD will be on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at St. James Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim, South Dakota. Celebrant will be Fr. Charles Chan and the St. James Episcopal Lay Readers. There will be All-Night Wake services on Friday, December 27, 2024, and Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Enemy Swim Gym, Enemy Swim, South Dakota starting at 7:00 P.M.  Urn Bearers will be Kirwin Roberts, Parker Rockwood, Victor Rockwood, and Elli-Oot Rockwood. Honorary Urn Bearers will be all of Ruth's Family and Friends. Inurnment will be at the St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, Browns Valley, South Dakota. Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth "Duta" Katherine Cloud was born on July 17, 1937, to Iver Cloud I and Gertrude (Enoch) Cloud at St Johns Church. She attended Flandreau Indian School and graduated in 1954. She attended Kansas University, Haskell, Trinity Bible College, Northern State University, and Southern State Teachers College. She obtained an Associates of Business degree from Haskell. Ruth married Roger Newton Campbell on July 9, 1960. Together they had 5 children: Bobby, Iver, Kathy, Lori, and Mel. They lived at the St. James rectory in Enemy Swim, SD. She also lived in Agency Village, SD, Flandreau, SD, Traverse, MN, Waubay, SD, and Enemy Swim, SD. She worked various administrative jobs for the Tribal Government. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim, SD. She enjoyed playing cards, Dice (6-5-4), Word Searches, Saddle-up Saturday, and visiting with family and friends. She didn't follow a particular team, but she did have a favorite player Tom Brady her "Blue-Eyed Boy". Ruth passed away on December 25, 2024, at Bethesda Home, Webster, SD.

She is survived by her two children; Robert Campbell of Waubay, SD and Lori Campbell of Waubay, SD; 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; brother, Iver Cloud II of Agency Village, SD; two sisters Claudette Cloud-Anderson of Fargo, ND and Fern Cloud of Granite Falls, MN.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; children Iver Campbell Sr., Katherine Campbell, and Melody Campbell; brothers Vernon and Floyd Cloud; sisters, Marlys Cloud-Martin and Rena Cloud; paternal grandparents John and Bessie (Derby) Cloud Sr.; maternal grandparents James and Sarah (Wakeman) Enoch.
