Memorial Visitation for Ruth E. Anderson, 91 of Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Sisseton, SD will be on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with a Family Prayer Service at 3:00 P.M. at the St. Catherine's Living Center Chapel, Wahpeton, ND with Chaplin Jane Millikan officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Wendorff, Rodger Carlson, Michael Lee, Michael Kurpius, Even Scott, and Keven Krueger. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Ruth's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Interment will be in the Lake View Cemetery, South Shore, SD.  The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Ruth Ellen Anderson, daughter of David and Davida (Johanson) Carlson was born August 19, 1927 on a farm near Marvin, SD.  She attended grade school at Marvin Independent and Mazypa #1and her freshman year of high school at Marvin, that was the last year of high school held there.  She graduated from South Shore High School in 1945.  She received her teaching certificate from Northern State Teacher College in Aberdeen and taught rural schools in Grant and Codington County.

Ruth married Lowell Anderson in South Shore on March 15 ^, 1947.  They moved to Sisseton in 1953. She worked for Sunshine State Dairy, Cass Clay Creamery, bookkeeping at Branch offices there and also worked at Tekakwitha Nursing Home and Schiltz Foods.  She enjoyed sewing and baking.  She especially liked when the grandchildren were little and they would help her make bread dumpling soup by washing the bread for her.  We called the soup "big soup" by family.  The family would like to say a special thank you to the Staff of St. Catherine's Living Center.

Ruth is survived by one daughter, Paula and husband Joe Lee of Wahpeton, ND; two grandchildren, Leslie and husband Mike Kurpius of Wahpeton, ND, Mike and wife Jenny of Rapid City, SD; great grandchildren, Brittany and husband Even Scott of Audubon, MN, Jordan Kurpius and Jeremy Wendorff of Fargo, ND and Jadyn, Mariah and Andrew of Rapid City, SD; two great-great grandchildren, Camden Scott and Zoey Wendorff.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; her parents; her brother, Roland, and a niece and nephew.
