Obituary

Funeral Mass for Rosemary Ann White, 95, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Hall, Sisseton, South Dakota with Fr. Gregg Frankman Celebrant.   Special music by Bernadine Gaikowski and Arnold Williams. Pallbearers will be Bryon White Jr., Garett DuMarce, Gordon Opatz, Joe LaCroix Sr., Ervin DuMarce, Duron LaCroix, and Isaac Lucero.  Honorary Pall Bearers will be Bobbi DuMarce, Julie Heitman, Dorothy Nelson, Barbara LaCroix, Kathy White, Ann Nordquist, and Coral Fonder. Drum Group will be Arnold Williams. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. There will be an all-night Wake Service on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Hall, Sisseton, South Dakota.   The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Rosemary Ann Burbach was born on January 6, 1927 in Hartington, NE to Julius and Theresa (Schmidt) Burbach. She grew up in Hartington, NE.  Rosemary was united in marriage to Emery White Sr. in 1979 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Denver, CO. They lived in Colorado for four years before moving to Sisseton, SD for one year.  Then they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where Emery got his masters degree at the University of Utah. Rosemary worked as an RN at the VA Medical Center for two years in Salt Lake City, Utah. They moved back to Sisseton in 1986.  Rosemary worked at the IHS Hospital as their director of Nurses for many years. She donated her time at the Tekakwitha Living Center, doing morning prayers with residents, and sometimes one on one prayers, and when needed she filled in for the Father. When Rosemary very first heard the Dakota drum groups sing she fell in love with them. Rosemary was an artist.  Rosemary passed away at her home on December 14, 2022.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Emery White Sr. of Sisseton, SD; one brother, Rhinold Burbach of North Platte, NE; two sisters, Monica Mosher and Rita Isom of Hartington, NE; and one special granddaughter, Monique Rattlingleaf of Sisseton, SD.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister, Leon Wartman.
