Funeral Service for Rosella Faith Heminger, 92 of Sisseton. South Dakota will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Nelson Community Center, Peever, SD with CRE Gerald Heminger, Jr., Pastor Milton Owen, and Deacon Chet Cordell officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pallbearers will be Luke Cordell, Allen Ellingson, Joseph Heminger, William Heminger, Douglas Heminger, Micah Kohl, Jonnie Cordell Jr., Dustin Heminger and Carmello Heminger. Honorary Pallbearers will be Milton, Barbara, Pete and Gary Owen, Ester McCoy, Myrna Thompson, John & Jamie German, Bobby & Bernie Kohl, Sharon Cloud, Carrietta Greeley, Diedre Keeble, Joanne Spider, Marcella Haug, Elaine Herniman, Lorraine German, Florestine Renville, Nina Cook, Laura Heminger, Alpha Behrens, Carole Quinn, Melaine MacConnell, Pam Keoke, Jacki Adams, Deb (Bernard) Haug, Kim Pratt, Chelsea Chanku, Lennie Peters, Rev Hunter and Barbar Keen, and Susie Amos. Interment will be in Ascension Presbyterian Cemetery, Peever, SD. There will be Wake Services on Tuesday and Wednesday January 6 & 7 at 7:00 P.M. at the Nelson Community Center, Peever, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Rosella Faith German was born on November 08, 1933, at Peever, SD to Jack and Amelia (Owen) German. She attended Country School through the 8th grade. Rosella was united in marriage to Gerald Heminger Sr. on July 5th, 1954. They lived in Peever, Old Agency and Sisseton, S.D. Rosella belonged to the Ascension Presbyterian Church in Big Coulee. Her hobbies were raising her children, gardening, reading, puzzles, word finds and pocket solitaire games. Rosella passed away on December 31, 2025, at Bethesda Home, Webster, SD surrounded by her family.
Rosella is survived by her children, Mike Heminger, Colleen ( Chet) Cordell, Gerald Heminger Jr., Crystal Heminger, Valene Heminger and Destry Heminger, Robert "Bobby" Kohl, and Jonnie Cordell Sr ; one brother, Owen German and one sister, Alta German; eighteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Lorraine German and Florestine Kiyunkapi, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosella was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Amelia German; husband Gerald Heminger Sr.; two daughters Wanda Hope Heminger and Camelia Heminger; twin sons Benjamin and Seth Heminger; two grandsons, Gabriel and Gage Heminger; paternal grandparents, John and Christine German; maternal grandparents Charlie and Amanda Owen; one brother Gerald German Sr; and one sister Marlene Ironheart; aunts Rose (Joe) Starlight, Melinda (Herbert) Spider, Grace (David) Two Stars and uncle, Pierce (Laura) Owen.
