Funeral Service for Roland Glen Heminger "Četán Dowánpi Dúta, Red Singing Hawk, 61, of Lidgerwood, North Dakota will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Florentine (Flo) Blue Thunder officiating.  Drum Group Iyakapta. Pall Bearers will be Rick Plank, Dewey Lawrenson, Cody White, Alex Heminger, Kenny Anderson, Jakobe Heminger, Jeffrey Heminger Jr, Jaxton Heminger, Jeffrey Heminger Jr., and Jaxton Heminger. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Kenny Abraham, Carol Belle and Jennie Burshiem, Sherry & Cindy Weston, Dayla Smith, Mary Vega, Hunka Family was Sitting Crow family, Baldeagle Family, Hale Family, Mush Well, Bad Nation – Zephier Family, Cheyenne River Honor Guard Organization Group, Bearstop Family, Wright Family, Fiddler Family, and Sandra Black Bear Family.  Inurnment will be in the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Veterans Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD, is in charge of arrangements.

Roland was born on June 1, 1964, in Sisseton, South Dakota to Percy Kirk Jr. and Shirley Ann Heminger. He graduated from high school and at the age of 17 enlisted in the United States Marines, Following the military he went on to three years of college. He had his own construction company called Accurate Construction. Roland was a lifetime Cowboy's fan, but we loved him anyway. Rolland had many different seasons of his life…he was a cowboy at heart, Native proud, with the courage of a Marine.

Roland is survived by his children, Jeffrey "Chaske " (Gracie) Heminger of Sioux Falls, SD, Tashina Seaboy of Rapid City, SD, Butterfly Heminger of Marcos Island, FL, Cante (Derek) Heminger, of Flandreau, SD, Cetan (Roslyn) Heminger of Wathill, NE; Mahpiya "DayDay" Heminger of Flandreau, SD, Skye Hayes of Perham, MN, Wakinyan "CheChe" Heminger of Lidgerwood, ND,  Ziza Wright of Granite Falls, MN, Roderick "Kute" Head of Lidgerwood, ND, Wachihe zi win "ZiZi" Heminger of Minneapolis, MN, Tokan Heminger of Lidgerwood, ND, and Wakinyana "Maza" Heminger of Lidgerwood, ND; one sister, Trilby Lawrenson of Lidgerwood, ND; eleven grandchildren; one god daughter Juliana Martinez of Elgin. Il.; nieces and nephews, Rick (Ashlyn) Plank, Trista (Aaron) King, Dewey Lawrenson, Roland had may cousins, and even more nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

Roland was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Isaac; Father Percy Kirk, Jr.; Maternal grandparents Christian and Lucinda Heminger and paternal grandparents Percy Kirk, Sr, and Marcellaine Renville.
