Visitation for Rodrigo "Rod" Venegas, 92 of Sisseton, SD will be on Friday, January 23, 2009 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD, with the Rev. Les Campbell officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Brumbaugh, David George, Craig Hartman, and Tom Simon. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Rod's Family & Friends. Burial will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD.
Rod was born on April 15, 1916 in Ray, Arizona to Francesca Venegas.
He grew up and attended school in Parker, AZ. Following his education he worked for a car dealership as a mechanic. Rod was united in marriage to Hildreth TwoStars on December 19, 1948 in Parker, AZ. The couple made their home in AZ for a year and half before moving to Sisseton, SD. Rod went to work at a local car dealership in Sisseton as a mechanic for forty years. He liked to hunt, fish, and liked to have coffee with family and friends. He liked to tinker and could fix most anything. Hildreth and Rod lived in the Rosholt Assisted Living Center, Rosholt, SD. Rod passed away suddenly on January 21, 2009 in Rosholt, SD.
Rod is survived by his wife, Hildreth Venegas of Rosholt, SD; two daughters, Floy Venegas and Crystal Venegas of Aberdeen, SD; and one sister Olivia Woods of California.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard, and two sisters, Estella and Sandy.
