Funeral Service for Robin Rea Begay, (Wanbdi Hde'ska Awanyakapi Win) Spotted Eagle who protects her, 50, of Browns Valley, MN will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Pastor Amos Roberts and Pastor Jerome Renville officiating. Special Music will be by Sam Begay, Devola Bird, Anne Marie Esh and Daughters. Pall bearers will be Nate Begay, Rhea Johnson, Belle Johnson, Aaron Roberts, Caske "Louis" Hart, Dalbert Begay, Miranda Redday, and Jessi Tiger. Honorary Pall bearers will be Elvonna Begay, Tessa Quinn, David Williams, Babe "Rhiannon" Redday, Rion Redday, Elizabeth "Liz" Hill, Natanee Patterson, Lenora "Ski Ski" Haug, and the Browns Valley Nursing Home Staff. There will be a wake service on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, starting at 7:00 P.M. and an all-night wake on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD. Interment will be at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Cemetery, Agency Village, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Robin was born on April 20, 1975, to Sam K. Begay and Delores Larson in Sisseton, SD. She attended school at Westside Elementary School and Tiospa Zina Tribal School for her early education, then went on to Sisseton Wahpeton College and United Tribe Technical College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood. She attended the Eagle Wing Baptist Church and lived in Agency Village, SD most of her life. She married Shawn Johnson (Twice). She worked at the Enemy Swim Day School as a FACE parent worker, Head Start in Agency Village, and she ran a in home daycare at some point in her life. She enjoyed reading books, watching Law and Order SVU and doing puzzles on her phone. Miami Dolphins were her favorite football team only because of her husband Shawn.

Robin is survived by her children, Bonna Begay, Nate Begay, Sami Johnson, Rhea Johnson, Belle Johnson, Blaine DuMarce and Gabby Renville; grandchildren Shayla, Ezra, Anastansia, Jasper,  Jordan, Aslak, Axel, Graciella, Rodrigo, and Neftali; father Sam Begay; brother Caske "Louis" Hart; sister Elvonna Begay; step father Terry Larson; nephews, Moses (Alyssa) Roach, Roland "Yamni" Roach, and Shane Roach Jr.; Nieces Auddy (Caleb) Drexal, Marissa and Mckenzie Roach, AlphaLee Begay, Jani Rae Begay, and Teyana Provincal; cousins, Begay, Redday, and Wilson families.

She was preceded by her husband, Shawn Johnson; mother Delores Larson; Maternal grandparents, Helen Redday, Nathan Wilson, Grace Redday; paternal grandparents, Paul and Mary Begay; brother, Paul Begay; sisters, Misty Begay, Desiree Eagle, Colleen Roberts, and Desirae Ortley; nieces, Shaylauna Roach and Maliyah Provancial; cousins, Uriah Redday, Carissa Redday, Ronnie Jo Oakie, Cecil Oakie, Joe Oakie Jr., and Kathleen Dwarf; mother-in-laws, Carla Williams and Lynelle Quinn; father-in-law Harold Johnson; numerous other family members.
