Visitation will be held at Cahill Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2:00-5:00 P.M. Robert (Bob) Sydney Tarvin, Jr. was born on January 8, 1941 in Sisseton, SD to Robert Sydney and Maxine (Robert) Tarvin Sr. Robert attended Sisseton Public School and Sisseton High School.Bob served in the United States Army from February 1959 to April 1962 and served in Germany.  Bob was united in marriage to Judith Rice on February 26, 1963. They made their home in Sisseton, where Bob worked for Tarvin & Sons House Moving as a house mover for most of his life.  He then worked at the Roberts County Courthouse until his retirement.  Bob was a member of the Otto-Quande-Renville American Legion Post #50.  He was a former member of the Sisseton Fire department and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.  He loved classic cars, motorcycles and attending car shows. Bob passed away at home on February 15, 2022 at the age of 81 surrounded by family and assisted by hospice.

Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy of Sisseton, SD; four children Rick and Lan Tarvin of Bettendorf, IA, Jim ad Mayr Tarvin of Westmont, IL, Malissa and Jim Mayne of Wallingford, CT and Lisa Taylor of Wallingford, CT; grandchildren, Riley and Ian Mayne of Wallingford, Sam Tarvin of Westmont, Logan and Jack Taylor of Wallingford and Jeremy Tarvin of Bettendorf; one great grandson, Anakin Tarvin; and one sister Shirley Hoines of Sioux Falls, SD.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine (Robert) and Robert Tarvin Sr.; one brother, Jerry Tarvin; and two grandsons, Jordan Tarvin and Brenden Tarvin.

Robert "Bob" Tarvin, 81, of Sisseton, South Dakota, passed away on February 15, 2022 at his home with family by his side. The memorial service will be held at a later date.
