Robert C. Spider Jr., 50, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota made his journey to the Spirit World on June 11, 2023 at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD surrounded by family.  There will be visitation on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Miller-West Funeral Chapel, Sioux Falls, SD.  In respect for Robert's last wish, he was cremated, and requested no traditional wake/burial services.  Instead he wanted family and friends to celebrate his life, to laugh and share memories, not to be sad.  Urn Bear will be Amy Jimenez.  Honorary Urn bearers Larry Jensen, Brandon Steinberg, John "Babygirl" Tucker, Conrad Medicine Crow, all family, friends, co-workers, ICU Heart Hospital 6th floor nurses, especially Maddy, Drew, Josilyn, and all who were fortunate to have met him.  Burial of Robert's cremains will be announced at a later date.

Robert was born on September 14, 1972 at Denver, Colorado.  He grew up in Ft. Thompson  with his grandma Ethel.  Although he faced many challenges in his life, he was very determined to make the most of it.  He was a hard working man, who had the ability to learn different trades and use that knowledge to work in carpentry, concrete and plumbing.  He also was an artist in his younger days.  He loved to fix on his cars, not so much in past few years.  In the early 2000's he became a dad of 2 beautiful girls and a step-son, though he considered him his own.  You had to know Rob to understand his sense of humor, as his friends and family could attest to.  He liked to spend time with them, sipping on an ice cold one, sharing memories, and making new ones.  He was easy going and adapted easily in life.  He also could be very strong willed and stubborn – to which Aunt Faith said "That's the Spider blood".  When his mind was set, there was nothing anyone could do or say to change it.  One of the greatest times in life is when he became a grandpa.  When he got off work he would tell Stacy "tell Becky to bring Kaylani over, papa wants her".  Sakari lived in Sisseton, therefore he didn't get to see her as much, but he loved her just the same.  He will never get to meet the soon-to-be grandson.  I'm sure he would have made sure they came to visit more or he would have gone to Sisseton.  There is so much to tell of Robert, if you were fortunate to have met him, then you were still in his life.  He will be greatly missed.

Robert is survived by his partner Stacy Miler, Sioux Falls, SD; his mother Marjorie Spider, Manderson; children Shawn (Megan) Foote, Sisseton, SD, Rebecca (Lonnie) and Alyssa Marks of Sioux Falls, SD; Sisters Roberta Pease, Ft Thompson, Rhonda Spider, Texas and Candace Hill, Rapid City, SD; Brothers David Allen Spider, Sioux Falls, SD, Palauni Long Soldier, Pine Ridge, Calvin Carlow, Manderson, and their family, his precious grandbabies Sakari and babyboy Foote, Kaylani and Atreus Pickner; Uncles Amos Spider, Watertown, Orville Belt, Lame Deer, Mt. and family.  Aunts Irene Langdeau, Dorothy Farmer, Faith Spider, Lydia Marks, Ft Thompson, Christine "Kay" Belt, Oglala, SD,  Virginia Yankton, Pine Ridge and Sara Belt, Rapid City and their families.  Robert had lots of family who will miss him cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, friends, co-workers, including a friend who continued to care for him to the end Amy Jimenez.
