Funeral Service for Robert "Jimmy" Hopkins, 62 of Enemy Swim, SD will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at St. James' Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim with Rev. Fr. Conrad Ciesel and Rev. Deacon Bitsey Ciesel, and Episcopal Lay Readers officiating. Pianist will be Billy Kohl. Pallbearers will be Delbert 'Roly" Hopkins Sr., Jesse "JJ" Hopkins, Levi Hopkins, Johnson Hopkins, Garrett Keoke, Jordan Biddell, Jason Biddell, Joel Biddell, Solon "Scooby" Hopkins, Phil Smith, Dominic Bearhill, and Chris Thennis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray and Vern Rouillard, Bob and Randy Iyarpeya, Renville Boys, David Gill, Christine Hopkins Ree, Waylon DuMarce, Charles Vermillion, Rudy and Jake Bellonger, Cameron and Roland "JJ" Frank, Owen Rondell, and Christopher Fayant Sr.. Interment will be in the St. James' Episcopal Cemetery, with Military Rites by Woodrow Wilson Keeble American Legion Post # 314. Wake Services will be held on St. James' Guild Hall on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 and Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Robert James Hopkins (Jimmy) was born on December 19, 1955 to Solon and Beulah Hopkins. He attended school at Waubay Public School and graduated from Flandreau Indian School He served in the United States Army. Following his discharge, he worked, harvesting potatoes in Clark and other areas. He also worked at the Poultry Farm in Watertown and Sisseton. But his passion was working in Masonary for various construction companies. He enjoyed visiting with relatives and friends, playing cards and whist. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Robert passed away on May 14, 2018 at his home in Enemy Swim.

Robert is survived by three brothers, Paul (Chippy) Smith of Kansas, Sherman Hopkins of Sioux Falls, SD and Marcelle Hopkins of Enemy Swim; two sisters, Beatrice Biddell of Sisseton, SD and Estelle Hopkins of Enemy Swim; special niece Shannon Hopkins; many other nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Solon and Beulah, his uncle and aunt Amos and Elaine Mireau, his paternal and maternal grandparents, a sister Roberta, one brother Delbert Hopkins Sr.; two nieces Whitney Hopkins and Joni Biddell.
