Richard Kermit Moe August 30, 1939 – April 1, 2010 Richard Kermit Moe, age 70, died at the Veteran's Medical Center on April 1, 2010 as the result of a heart attack. Richard was born on August 30, 1939 in Pierre, South Dakota to Theodore and Helen (Twitero) Moe. The military family traveled to many towns during Richard's childhood. He graduated from high school in Green River, WY. Richard attended Colorado State, Boulder and Idaho State in Moscow, Idaho. He served in the Army and Secret Service and fought in the Korean War. Richard was a surveyor. He married Barbara on March 17, 2004. She survives. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, making jewelry, collecting stamps, rock hunting and polishing. He loved helping people, was terrific with kids. Richard was a devout Christian. He was an honorable husband, son, brother, relative and friend. In addition to his wife, Barbara, Richard is survived by a step-daughter, Lori Simpson of Grand Junction; sisters, Carol Moe of Gillette, WY; Marily Boleda of Cupertino, CA; three step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church, Claire City, SD with the Rev. Tryphine Schruba officiating. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD on April 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Military Rites by the Otto-Quande Renville American Legion Post #50 and Fort Sisseton VFW Post #3342.
