Richard Dean Borgen was born on October 25, 1944, to Cecil and Marcella (Mattson) Borgen in Sisseton South Dakota. He grew up in rural Veblen and graduated from Veblen High School in 1962. Richard studied 2 years at SDSU college, then went on to find the career he loved doing, construction work, moving the earth. When his boss decided to retire, Richard decided it was time for him and a couple friends to buy the company from his boss. Richard became part owner of Commercial Construction Inc. in Lincoln Nebraska. He worked hard and was very proud of the company and the work they did. Richard enjoyed using the scraper and the bulldozer. He liked the heavy equipment so much that he has collected and been given many of the smaller versions. He was most proud of the plaque and miniature heavy equipment on it that he received from the Caterpillar Equipment Company.
Richard is survived by his children Kelly Hill of Oklahoma, Chandra (Casey) Entwisle of Kansas and Chris (Crystal) Borgen of Oklahoma. Brothers Jerome (Nina) Borgen of New Effington, SD and Don (Pat) Borgen of Veblen, SD. Grandchildren Corey Hubbard, Annabel Entwisle, Lilian Entwisle, Kobe Buckle, Braylee Buckle, Zoey Buckle, and Christopher Hurtt
Richard was preceded in death by parents Cecil and Marcella (Mattson) Borgen and son Jeremy Buckle.
