Funeral Mass for Richard Allen Fonder, 72 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with Rev. Fr. Toni Dummer Celebrant. Organist will be Cindy Marohl and special music by Sandi Jaspers and Chuck Vrchota. Urn Bearer will be Glen Johnson. Pallbearers will be Dean Lotzer, Virgil Lotzer, Maynard Moen, Garry Burger, Lawrence Hellwig, David Grajczyk, and Jim Janaszak. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Dick's Grandchildren and Friends at Palacious, Texas. Inurnment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD.
Richard Allen Fonder was born on October 21, 1939 in Sisseton, SD to Clifford and Florence (Lotzer) Fonder. He attended school in Sisseton and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1957. Following his education he trucked for Clinton Dahl, Combined for OJ Fisher and worked at the Coach Bar. Dick was united in marriage to Donna Goldsmith on April 11, 1964 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. He farmed and worked at Motor Supply and Port Orchard Sprinkler System. In 1969 they purchased the farm that they lived on. Dick was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, glass cutting, traveling to Texas and spending time with family and friends. Dick passed away on February 23, 2012 in Palacious, Texas.
Dick is survived by his wife, Donna of Sisseton, SD; one son, Wayne Fonder of Sisseton, SD and one daughter, Brenda and husband, Kevin Guy of Sisseton, SD, five grandchildren, and one brother, Gene and wife, Marnie Fonder of Minneapolis, MN and one sister, Betty Wolfe of Minneapolis, MN.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, LaVerne and Dallas and one brother in law Bud Wolfe.
