Funeral Service for Reynold Arbach, 92, formerly of Sisseton, SD, will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Sisseton, SD with Rev. Thomas Mueller officiating. Organ music is provided by Clarice with the assistance of Dean Lehrke. Pallbearers are Reynold's five grandsons; Paul Gramstad, Dustin Gramstad, Christopher Arbach (Laura), Joseph Curren (Morgan), Matthew Curren and special friend Kevin Pistorius. Honorary Pallbearers are Reynolds's five granddaughters: Tracy Ranweiler (Mike), Stephanie Coolbaugh (Chris), Kimberly Bartel (Pat), Lindsey Arbach and Heather Arbach and five great grandchildren: Aiden Ranweiler, Caleb, Danielle and Isaac Bartel and Isla Coolbaugh. There will be visitation at the Emanuel Lutheran Church on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Sisseton Cemetery, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Reynold Bernard Arbach was born on November 3, 1930, in Hoven, SD to Peter and Mary (Jax) Arbach. Reynold was baptized at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Hoven, SD. He attended school in Hoven until the 3 rd grade and in 1938, as a small child, moved to Sisseton with his parents. They settled on the Nick Weis farm four miles NW of Sisseton. Reynold attended catholic school for 2 years in Sisseton before going to Long Hollow Country School. On January 25, 1950, Reynold was united in marriage to Clarice Nordstrom. They lived on her parents' farm and farmed with her dad. In 1960 they purchased the farm from her mother. They made their home there until 1998 when they moved into Sisseton. Reynold milked cows until 1975 when they sold them. He continued to farm until 1992 when his son, Roger, took over the farm. Reynold continued to help Roger on the farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Reynold was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where he held many offices on the Church Council. He was a long-time member of Sisseton Cemetery Board and was Supervisor of Sisseton Township and also served as treasurer. Reynold taught all his grandchildren to drive the manual transmission in the red Toyota pickup. Reynold passed away at Bethany Meadows in Brandon, SD, on December 18, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Reynold is survived by his wife of nearly 73 years, Clarice of Brandon, SD; four children, Roger (Joyce) Arbach of Sioux Falls, SD, Tamera Gramstad of New Ulm, MN, Steven (Carol) Arbach of Madison, SD, and Michele (Jeff) Curren, of Georgetown, TX; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Carol Keekley of Benbrook, TX and Darlene Peters of Alamo, TX; and many special nieces and nephews.
Reynold was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Arbach; his twin brother, Richard, and brothers Howard, Ray, and Robert Arbach: and two sisters, LaVera Seurer and Ramona Simon.
