Funeral Service for Raymond Leroy German, 72, of Peever South Dakota will be held on Friday December 6, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at Peever Community Center, Peever, SD with Pastor Kay Reeb and Fr Kim Fonder officiating.  The pianist will be Laura Nielsen. Pallbearers will be Calvin Finnesand, Harlan Finnesand, Ben Simon, Duane Lewandowski, Randy Backman and James Janisch.  Honorary Pallbearers we be all Raymond's grandchildren and great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Peever Cemetery, Peever, SD. There will be visitation on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton SD from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.  The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Raymond was born December 5, 1951, in Sisseton, SD in Robert's County to Donald & Beverly (Fonder) German. Raymond attended country school & then graduated from Sisseton High School in 1970.  After high school Raymond served in the Army National Guard serving 7 years. He then returned to the farm with his family.

Raymond was united in marriage to Rita Hahn on January 15, 1972. They were blessed with three children. Raymond was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton, a member of the American Legion, & treasurer for Agency Township. Raymond enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, woodworking, & visiting with family & friends. Some of Raymond's favorite times were working cattle with his son Greg & his closest friends Calvin Finnesand, Harlan Finnesand, Duane Lewandowski, James Janisch, & Ben Simon.  Raymond passed away at his home rural Peever, SD on November 27, 2024.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Rita; his children Greg (Nikki) German of Peever, SD; Nancy (Michael) Haggerty of Aberdeen, SD; & Daniel (Heather) German of Hartford, SD; his grandchildren Alex (Caitlyn) German, Angie (Tyler) German, Monique (Aaron) Sterling, Samantha German, Hudson German, Weston German, Ashley Haggerty, Alyssa (James) Duncan, Abbigail Haggerty, Kaylee German, Brianna German; and great grandchildren Paisley, Silas, Raileigh, & Ella Haggerty; Hazel & Ben Duncan; & Raelynne Sterling; as well as many aunts, uncles, & cousins.

Raymond is preceded in death by his granddaughter Dani German; his parents, Donald & Beverly German; his stepmother Ann German; maternal grandparents, Giles & Leila Fonder; his paternal grandparents, Theodore & Anna German; sister, Rita K German; in-laws Ervin & Adeline Hahn; and many aunts, uncles, & cousins.
