Memorial Service for Phyllis D. Robertson, 88, of Sisseton, South Dakota will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Family Life Assembly of God Church, Sisseton, South Dakota with Rev. Vern Donnell officiating with Kay Bursheim pianist and special music by Damian Peters. Pallbearers will be All of Phyllis' Children and Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Phyllis's grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis Deloris LaRoche was born on April 6, 1928 in Pierre, South Dakota to Philip P. and Winifred L. (Desmet) LaRoche. She attended high school in Rapid City, and moved to Colorado Springs where she worked until returning to SD to marry on June 28, 1955. The family moved to northeast Nebraska where, in 1987, her husband retired from the Federal Government and she retired from Goldenrod Hills, as Director of the Elderly Program. She and her husband enjoyed retirement in the Walthill, NE area before moving to Pickstown, SD where they continued to enjoy retirement near the Missouri River. They moved to Sisseton, SD to be near home, family, and friends.

She really loved people, loved to visit, loved to laugh, and enjoyed helping others. Her favorite hobby was her husband; she was one heck of a right-hand-man. She supported his great love for fishing, hunting, and sports. She was his "book of knowledge", his "memory-keeper", and "his home".

She reveled in the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She referred to her family as her gift, but really, she was the true gift to her family. Phyllis died on June 28, 2016 at Essentia Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Basil P. Robertson of Sisseton, South Dakota; six children Michael and Ann Robertson of Pickstown, SD; Richard Robertson of Veblen, SD; Laurie Robertson and John Zimmer of Sisseton, SD; Brian Robertson of Sisseton, SD; Terry and Misty Robertson of Dublin, TX and Jon and Tammee Robertson of Sioux City, IA; 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; and 5 nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by three siblings, Phil LaRoche; Mildred (LaRoche) Robertson; Ray "Bud" LaRoche; her mother-in-law Eunice (Robertson) Morrison; one son Larry; one daughter Michelle; and one grandson Corky.
