Phoebe Mae Thompson (Quinn), age 61, of Fargo, ND formerly of Sisseton, SD passed away June 22, 2017 surrounded by the company of loved ones at her home in Big Coulee, SD. An all-night Wake Service will be held starting at 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Big Coulee District Center followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Big Coulee District Center in Big Coulee, SD.

Filmore Simon will be officiating with special music provided by her friends and relatives. Urn Bearers are Raymond Eagle and William "Jr." Langdeaux. Honorary Urn Bearers are Dustin Thompson, Kevin Amos, Terry Howard, John Sargent and her buddy Odie of Fargo, ND. Cahill Funeral Chapel are in charge of all arrangements.

Phoebe Mae Thompson (Quinn) was born February 17, 1956 in Sisseton, SD to the late Clifford "Chief" Quinn and Dorothy Rose Atkinson-Quinn. Phoebe attended Sisseton High School and received her G.E.D before moving to Sioux Falls, SD in 1974. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Sanford Health, formerly known as Sioux Valley Hospital. Phoebe continued her career path and attended Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, KS graduating with a degree in Juvenile Counseling. Phoebe moved back to Sisseton after graduating and was employed at the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe. During her employment at S.W.S.T., she successfully founded the first Juvenile Center. Her aspiration was helping disadvantaged youth through court proceedings to ensure their safety and well-being. Phoebe was compassionate and steadfast when it came to helping others, especially the younger generation and those whom she loved and cared for. After her endeavor as a counselor, she moved to Fargo, ND in 1995 where she became the Manager of Days Inn Hotel. Phoebe continued her housekeeping career until she had to resign due to her declining health. She earnestly gave her best in all that she set her focus on. For this, she will be forever remembered as adamant, compassionate, altruistic, and whole-hearted. She is greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew her.

Phoebe is survived by two children, Autumn Rose Thompson (Rhea) of Busby, MT and Dustin Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD; ten grandchildren; two brothers, John Sergeant of Sisseton, SD and Joseph Atkinson/Bolding of Boulder, CO; four sisters, Susan Amos (Daren) of Peever, SD, Donna Thompson (Floyd) of Sisseton, SD, Frieda Roberts (Tom) of Belt, MT, and Anna Quinn of Canton, SD; as well as many numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles both blood relations and in-laws.

Phoebe is proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents, Emma Wing (Paul); maternal grandparents, Grace Atkinson (Joseph); father, Clifford "Chief" Quinn; mother, Dorothy Rose Atkinson-Quinn; three brothers, Willis Quinn, Richard Quinn and Eldred Quinn; one daughter, Melissa "Missy" Thompson; spouse, Robert Thompson; as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles both blood relations and in-laws.
