Gregg Frankman officiating. There will be visitation at the Cahill Funeral Chapel, from noon to service time. Interment will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, Sisseton, SD. Peter passed away passed away peacefully June 9, 2021. Pete believed that a handshake and a man's good word was better than any contract; that putting in a hard day's work and loyalty to friends and family was the true character of a person, and that everyone deserved a second chance and a helping hand. Pete was a natural mechanic who loved to work on cars and tractors and could bring just about any engine back to life; an inventor who loved to tinker (who will ever forget when he put the front end of a Cadillac with the rear end of a Datsun truck, and his Stewart Brothers Top Dressers are still in use at golf courses throughout the world); a crack shot; and an artist who painted frogs above his kids' bathtub and couldn't resist adding in googly eyes or stick figure drawings to any letter he sent. He shared his knowledge and skills with anyone who wanted to learn. He loved fishing, old country music and spaghetti westerns, listening to the birds at sunset and a nip of blackberry brandy in his coffee. Pete had the soul of a cowboy and a heart of gold and we will all remember his stories, quick wit, and the genuine caring he had for others. Born May 17th 1939, he graduated from Sisseton High School then moved to West St. Paul to start his family and career with Burlington Northern Railroad. He returned to Sisseton after his retirement.

Peter is survived by 7 children, Frank (Lori), Chuck, Beth (Terry), Tom (Gail), Dan, Tony (Julie) and Angela (Lawrence), 15 grand children, 11 great-grandchildren, Aunt Noreen Stillson, his children's mother Betty Stewart, beloved sister Patty (Butch) Mitchell, and his love of many years, Cheryl Himle.

Proceeded in death by parents Edward and Rosiena, siblings Kathleen, Edward and Allan.
