Funeral Service for Perry Allen Peterson, 24, of Hecla, South Dakota will be Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at United Methodist Church in Claremont, South Dakota with Rev. Nancy Manning officiating. Organist will be Yvonne Gibbs and Soloist will be Shelly Franz. Pallbearers will be Jarrett Daly, Jacob Moore, Tyler Thayer, Theodore Yde, Clinton Mitchell, Derick Kurtz, and Jeremy Bellmore. Honorary Pallbearers will be "All Perry's Family and Friends". Interment will be in the Groton Cemetery, Groton, SD. Visitation will on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 PM prayer service at the United Methodist Church in Claremont, South Dakota and one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the church. The Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, SD is in charge of arrangements.
Perry was born on Easter Sunday, April 3, 1988 at Aberdeen, South Dakota to Nellie Peterson. He started school in Aberdeen, SD at Howard Hedger Elementary, then transferred to Hecla Elementary where he continued though junior high. When the Hecla School closed he went to Britton-Hecla School at Britton, SD graduating in 2006. He loved working on things and working with his hands. He worked for Steve Voightman refurbishing scrappers. He loved collecting things; one man's junk was Perry's treasure. He was always happiest when he was building something outside on the farm. He loved animals, especially dogs, Rosie, MJ, Toby, Odie and Princess. There was always one or two sitting by him or on him. He met KaCee Tanner in 2007 and made his life with her south of Hecla. The best day in his life was the day his daughter JoZie Mae Peterson was born or as he called her (Couka). He was very proud of her and a very loving daddy. Perry passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 as a result of an accident near his home.
Perry is survived by his daughter JoZie Mae Peterson of Hecla, SD; his mother Nellie (Jeremy) Hatfield of Claremont, SD; Maternal grandparents Florence and Howard Peterson of Hecla, SD; two sisters Shayna Hartman of Aberdeen, SD and Grace Hatfield of Claremont, SD; significant other KaCee Tanner of Hecla, SD; Aunts and uncles Charleen (Bill) Moore, Oaks, ND; Charlie (Barbara) Pulfrey, LaCrosse, WI; Debra Pulfrey, Aberdeen, SD; Jeffrey (Cindy) Peterson of Elko, NV; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Perry was preceded in death by his uncles Fredjef Peterson, William Pulfrey, and Harold Pulfrey.
