A Wake Service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Old Agency District Center, Agency Village, SD.  Perry died on February 19, 2022 at Coteau Des Prairie Hospital, Sisseton, SD.

Perry "Williams' Mahpiyasna was born September 14, 1935 in Parma, Idaho to Smiley and LaVelva (Quartan) Williams. Perry and family then lived in various US states throughout his child and teen years. In 1953 Perry enlisted in the US Marines and served for a year and a half. Following his departure from the military, Perry attended school in Illinois where he learned to operate heavy equipment. Perry met his lifelong partner, Joni "Lawrence" Mahpiyasna in 1973. In 1999 Perry and Joni welcomed Samuel into their lives and in 2007 they completed their family by welcoming Daniel. Perry loved spending time with family (including the family dog Kenai). He found joy in reading and walking. Perry passed away on February 19, 2022 at Coteau Des Prairie Hospital, Sisseton, SD.

Perry is survived by his loving partner Joni; his sons Samuel (Mackenzie) Williams of Clark, SD and Daniel Williams of Peever, SD; two grandchildren Elijah and Riley Williams of Clark, SD; nephews Gary Spencer of Sisseton, SD, Ron Yellowbear of Browns Valley, MN and Dean Spencer of Flandreau, SD.

Perry is preceded in death by his parents Smiley and LaVelva (Quartan) Williams; brothers Darrell Williams and Kelvin Williams; sister Margie Spencer; and niece Velva Lu Spencer
