Funeral Service for Pearl Inez Owen, 98, of Peever, SD will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Pastor Nippy Owen and Jr. Heminger officiating. Pallbearers will be Buddy Jay Bird, Lincoln Bird, Joshua Lawrence, James Bird, Mike Owen, and Caroline Bird.  Honorary Pallbearers will be all of her family and friends and employees at Bethesda Home. Interment will be in the Ascension Presbyterian Cemetery, Big Coulee, SD. A Wake Service will be held at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 14, 2019. Pearl passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Bethesda Home in Webster, SD. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Pearl was born on February 2, 1921 in Peever, SD to Earl P. and Ida (Lawrence) Owen. She was the fifth of six children. She lived and grew up in the Peever area. She was a homemaker and liked vegetable gardens, and fruit trees, as well as canning fruit, and vegetables. She was a great cook. She kept to herself and liked animals. Dogs were her favorite. She raised chickens and liked country music.

Pearl is survived by granddaughters, Caroline Bird and June Richards; a nephew, Mike (Sylvia) Owen; a special niece, Elena Bird; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Remus Owen, Rexford Owen, Aubrey Owen, Robert Owen, and Sterling Owen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
