Funeral Mass for Pauline Michlitsch, 97, of Eden, SD will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eden, SD with Rev. Fr. Brian Simon celebrant. Organist will be Mary Wagner with special music by the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Michlitsch, Ronald Michlitsch, Harvey Michlitsch, Jerry Michlitsch, Terry Michlitsch, and Mary Kleinke. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Pauline's Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. There will be visitation on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, South Dakota is in charge of arrangements.
Pauline Margaret Buettner was born on June 9, 1919 at Bluegrass, Minnesota to John and Rosa (Sand) Buettner. She grew up and attended school and graduated from Albany High School. After high school she attended Business School in Minneapolis and graduated with a degree in Business. Pauline worked for the government during the war years in Minneapolis, Glenwood, and Sisseton, SD. Pauline was united in marriage to Math Michlitsch on January 16, 1945 in Holdingford, Minnesota. The couple owned and operated Math's Store in Eden, SD for thirty seven years and they also farmed Northeast of Eden. Math passed away on October 10, 1997 at Eden, SD. Pauline continued to live in Eden until she moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota. In 2015 she entered Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn, SD. Pauline loved to quilt, dance, watch game shows, do puzzles, play cards and was a great cook. She was very active in the planning of Eden's 50th anniversary, and was also the city treasurer of Eden. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eden, and she dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pauline passed away on July 7, 2016 at Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home, Roslyn, SD.
Pauline is survived by six children, Kenneth and Margaret Michlitsch, Grand Haven, Michigan, Ronald and Judy Michlitsch of Park Rapids, Minnesota, Harvey and Barb Michlitsch of Spearfish, SD, Jerry and Deb Michlitsch of Roslyn, SD, Terry and Lori Michlitsch of Plano, Texas, and Mary and James Kleinke of St. Cloud, Minnesota; one brother, Wilburt and Marylou Buettner of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great grandchild Paxton; three sisters and three brothers.
