Pansy Delight Cloud was born to John Cloud Sr. and Bessie Derby on October 14, 1927. She was one of five siblings: Harriet (Rondell), John Jr., Marlene (Campbell) and a half- brother Iver, Sr.

She attended country school in Sisseton and graduated from Flandreau Indian School in 1945.

On July 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Howard Genia. To this union 11 children were born:

In 1971 she returned to Sisseton to take care of her mother. Pansy survived her husband on May 18, 1972.

Pansy excelled in many interests and hobbies such as; embroidery, quilting, sewing, and cake decorating. She prided herself in being an excellent homemaker, wife and mother. She was also active in the Ladies Aid groups of Brookfield Presbyterian Church of Manorville, NY, Goodwill and Long Hollow Presbyterian Churches of Sisseton.

She had enjoyed seeing her 11 children grow up and get married. She had 52 Grandchildren and 84+ Great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

On Sunday, December 9, 2012, at the age of 85, Pansy Delight Genia made a peaceful journey.

Pansy joins her husband, her parents, maternal & paternal grandparents, a sister Harriet Rondell, a brother John Cloud Jr., a half-brother Iver Cloud Sr., and 2 great granddaughters, CastratiKron Cresselia Lufkins and Ivory Inez Brant.
