Patrick Dwayne Cooper was born to Daniel and Doris (Halbert) Cooper on June 20, 1969, in St. Paul, MN. Growing up as kids we spent a lot of time with cousins playing kick the can, tag, and occasionally get into trouble. We would spend hours walking and playing in the woods, riding horses up at uncle Dick and Aunt Sue's, fishing, and camping out on the weekends. We also had fish fries to sponsor our softball team, which we all enjoyed. In the mid-80s, we moved to St. Paul, MN. Pat, Rick, and DJ started roofing with their uncle Larry, and that was the start of his life in construction. He enjoyed doing the work. Then we all started working for Denny Hogan. And us four brothers worked hard and played hard with friends and family. (Ha ha). Pat moved back to South Dakota and stayed in Sisseton, Watertown, and Summit. He lived in Fargo, ND for a while and worked for Barry, who he loved, and also made decent money. But Pat started having back trouble and had to quit. He had multiple back and neck surgeries. A couple vehicle accidents which caused his lungs to collapse, which could have been part of his lung issues, besides smoking and developing COPD. He had lived with Rick & Andrea prior to wanting his own place. Which he got to have where he passed away in his own home.
Patrick is survived by his brothers Daniel Cooper of Goodwin, SD, Richard (Andrea) Cooper of Goodwin, SD, Brian Cooper of East Grand Forks, MN; aunt Elaine Parsons of Sisseton, SD; uncles Richard (Sue) Halbert of Veblen, SD and Larry (Debbie) Halbert of Lake Traverse, SD.
Patrick is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Doris Cooper; maternal grandparents Henry and Alvina Halbert; and paternal grandparents Richard and Gladys Cooper.
