Funeral Service for Pastor Luke-Baptiste Renville, 38, of Agency Village, SD will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at SWO Tribal Community Center, Agency Village, SD with Pastors Milton Owen and Amos Roberts officiating. Pallbearer will be Paul Renville, Edward Tipton, Jayce Starr, Brian Thomas, Canaan Renville, Andrew Grey III, and Leslie (Gummer) DeCoteau. Honorary Pallbearers will Tamika Ross, Jake Bellonger, Saphronia Crawford, Delmar Bernard, Darwin Bernard, Damion Flute, Jeffery LaCroix, and Shirley DeMarrias (his Godmother) . Interment will be in the Eagles Wing Baptist Cemetery, Peever, SD. There will be an all night wake service on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at the SWO Tribal Community Center. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements .

Luke-Baptiste Renville was born on March 1, 1983 in Sisseton, SD to Jerome and Karen (Shephard) Renville. He attended Waubay Public School and Tiospa Zina Tribal School. While in school he enjoyed playing the guard position in football. He graduated on May 24, 2002. After graduation he was hired by Tribal Police as a jailer and then as a police officer for several years. He also worked as a security guard at Coteau Des Prairie Hospital, Sisseton, SD for a while. For the past eight years he has been a security guard at Dakota Magic Casino in Hankinson, North Dakota and recently became a Lieutenant. .

Luke-Baptiste was also the Associate Pastor at the Eagle's Wing Baptist Church and also preached at Dakota Alliance Church as a fill-in pastor when requested.

He was a single parent to his three children Athena, Apollos and Jada. His world revolved around them.  He loved to take them fishing, to the movies and swimming. They took a trip to the Black Hills this summer before the kids went back to school. Luke-Baptiste passed to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 24, 2021.

Luke-Baptiste is survived by his children, Athena Renville of Peever, SD, Apollos and Jada Renville of Agency Village, SD; his parents Jerome and Karen Renville of Agency Village, SD; two Sister, Hildreth Renville of Hankinson , ND and Desirae Renville of Agency Village, SD; and one brother Paul Renville of Agency Village, SD, and his special brother, Edward Tipton II.of Sisseton, SD; Nephew Canaan Jerome Renville and Nieces Teagan Bellonger, Jeni Rodlund, Penelope-Jolene Barse, Philadelphia Barse, and Paulea Renville.

Luke-Baptiste was preceded in death by his Uncle Henry Shephard.
