Pamela Joy Renville, 68, passed away on August 17, 2024, at the Tekakwitha Living Center, Sisseton, S.D. Pam, as she was always known as was born to Felix Renville, Sr., and Caroline (LaBelle) Renville on November 6, 1955.

A Traditional Service for Pam, "Wo Hakta Win", 68 of Sisseton, SD will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Kateri's Tekakwitha Hall, Sisseton, SD. An All-Night wake service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, starting at 7:00 P.M. at St. Kateri's Tekakwitha Hall, Sisseton, SD. Interment will be at the Sisseton Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Arvol Lookinghorse with drum group Londell Seaboy. Pallbeares will be Gavin Wolfe, James Wolfe, Chase Renville, Gabriel Sanchez, Moses Renville, Shilo Renville, Felix Renville Jr., and Nowell Renville. Honorary Pallbearers will be "All of Pam's close friends, relatives, past coworkers, her friend Candi and Tekakwitha Staff.

Pam attended Sisseton High School and later attended colleges at South Dakota State University, Brookings, S.D., Dakota State University, Madison, S.D., and Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. She graduated from Sisseton Wahpeton College in 1992, with an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration/ Information Specialist.

Pam married Robert "Bob" Beetem in 1983. Their favorite pastime together was fishing and hunting, and cooking what they caught. Pam had a competitive nature to her which Bob liked. She was also family oriented. Pam was best at being a mother to her two daughters. After spending a few years away from home in Moorhead, MN, Pam returned to Sisseton to be with family.

Pam worked at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Elderly Program for several years in the early 2000s. She utilized her Business Administration degree to help with the operations of the program. She took a lot of pride in her work. She considered it her duty to help and provide services for the elderly.

As a grandmother, Pam loved to spend time with her grandchildren, Jianna, Gavin, and James Wolfe. She cooked the best fried chicken. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren on out-of-town fun trips. One time she took her grandchildren to the Fort Sisseton haunted house event, even though she got scared. One of her favorite times of the year was Halloween, a time of fun and trick or treating. The door to her home was always open to her nephews and nieces.

Pam always showed up for school awards day activities for her grandchildren. One of her proudest moments was when her granddaughter Jianna graduated from Sisseton High School in 2021 with honors.

In her life, Pam always had a place in her heart for the elderly and for those people who struggled in their lives. She participated in American Indian Movement activities in the 1970s. Pam along with her mother Caroline, brother Nowell, and sister Colleen, participated in the Longest Walk in 1978, at Washington, D.C.

Pam is preceded in death by her father Felix Renville, Sr., Mother Caroline, Her nephew Shawn Renville, and Niece Chloe DuMarce.

Pam is survived by her daughters Red Dawn Renville, Emma Caroline Evelyn Renville, three grandchildren, Jianna Wolfe, Gavin Wolfe, and James Wolfe. She is also survived by her sister Darlene (Faye) Sanchez (Paul), and family Moline, Illinois, her brother Felix Renville, Jr. (Denise), Sisseton, S.D., and family, her sister, Colleen DuMarce (Harvey), Sisseton, S.D., and family, and brother Nowell Renville (Crystal), New Effington, S.D., and family, and her Hunka brother Richard Bird, Sisseton, S.D. Pam is also survived by a host of grandchildren, cousins, nephews, and nieces, and their families, in Moline, Illinois, West Branch, Iowa, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Seattle, Washington.

In her last days, Pam told her family she was not afraid of death. She wanted her daughters to carry on with their lives, to remember her, but go on living. She is now with all the people whom she loved and who loved her in this world. Pam is now free to be with them.
