Orlando David Estes was born June 9, 1980 in Sisseton, SD to Richard and Elizabeth (Jackson) Estes. Orlando's early years were spent in Aberdeen where he attended school. He later received his G.E.D. and continued on with college at Oglala Lakota College in Eagle Butte where he took business classes.
Orlando moved back and forth between Eagle Butte and Rapid City, working as a construction laborer, and becoming certified as a form setter. He was an animal lover and really missed his dog Damon Dog when he was in Rapid City. In his spare time Orlando liked to play video games, basketball, cards, chess and dominoes.
Orlando loved to tell stories, talk and listen to pow-wow music. He tried his best to keep his traditional ways. He sang and went to sweats whenever he could. He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, but most of all, he was known for being a hard worker and loving to tease.
In his father's last year's Orlando stayed close and took care of him, driving him to his appointments in Sturgis every week.
Orlando is survived by his mother, Liz (Glen) Anderson of Sisseton, SD; his siblings, Susan Chapu of Denver, CO, Robert Fisher of Sioux Falls, SD, Walter Chanku of Sisseton, SD, Darcelle Jackson, of Elk City, OK, Jesse and Michael Estes of Rapid City, Robin & Richie Estes of Brookings, SD and Myrna and David Anderson of Sisseton, SD along with his Paternal Grandmother, Mildred (Meeter) Bridwell of Eagle Butte and Maternal Grandfather, Nick Boswell of Minneapolis, MN and numerous other extended family and friends.
